A great deal of care and thought goes into every piece I write. From continuity of rhythms, to excitement of individual parts, to balance of difficulty throughout the ensemble, a piece by Kevin Sluder means a piece that is appropriate for your ensemble.

Too often, pieces that fit well into the educational classroom don't always reach the player (and the audience) on an emotional level. My primary goal in anything I write is to create relevant and meaningful melodies within the controlled context of the grade level and medium for which I'm composing.
